The baliok tree is red and its body is very hard and is used to make axe handles, spear shafts and extentions to a house because it doesn't get holes from the bokbok insect. [It's leaf is similar to the guava bayabas tree but the wood is so hard that an axe cutting it gets hot and needs to be cooled in water.]
