Introduction

The Bimoba speaking people live in the Northern region of Ghana and the bordering region of Togo. They call their language Moar. Much population growth, as in all of Ghana occured in the last years. A census of 1960 showed 32,270 speakers. Current estimates range from 200,000 to 310,000 persons belonging to that ethnic group. There are various dialects, which differ greatly from each other. Bunkpurugu is the “capital” of the Bimoba speaking people.
