The Ellomwe language is a Bantu language spoken by the lomwe people in the Southern part of Malawi. The number of speakers is estimated to be around one million. The language is also called Elhomwe or Chilomwe.
This language is classified as belonging to Niger Congo language phylum to which bantu is a branch. As a bantu language, Ellomwe is a member of Makuwa language family.
There is still much work to do, but we, the compilers have decided to publish this work-in-progress, in order to document the work we have done so far. Our ambition is to publish early and often.
