Foreword

This dictionary was produced after 12 years of language development, involving language data collection, analysis and translation work in the Fuyug language community of Central Province, Papua New Guinea.

It was in draft when the work was halted in 2000; further work was not resumed. The Fuyug – French dictionary produced at the Roman Catholic Mission at Fane was a very helpful resource. Nevertheless it serves as a repository of a Papuan language, serving as a means of preserving the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Fuyug people.
