Introduction

 

The Kibushi language is spoken by over 47,000 people living in Mayotte, which is a collectivity of France. The language is classified as Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Greater Barito, East, Malagasy. They inhabit the west coast of Grande-Terre, the main island.

The ISO code is buc. Alternate names include: Antalaotra, Kibosy Kiantalaotsy-Majunga, Kibuki, Sakalava, and Shibushi. The dialects are: Kibushi-Kimaore (Shibushi Shimaore), Kiantalaotse.

There is still much work to do, but we, the compilers have decided to publish this work-in-progress, in order to document the work we have done so far. Our ambition is to publish early and often.
