Introduction

 

Lagwan is a Chadic language spoken by about 15,000 people in Logone-Birni and in the villages around this town situated in the Logone et Chari Division, Far North province, Cameroon. It is also spoken in some villages in Chad which are on the edge of the Logone river, especially Logone Gana (Dieu et al 1983: 93; Tourneux 2000; Ruff 2005; Shryock 2006).
