Introduction

 

The Loxrlapor ethnic group of southwestern China that speaks the Yao'an dialect of Loxrlavu numbers around 60,000 speakers. They reside in Yao'an County of Chuxiong Prefecture, and Xiangyun County in Dali (Midian Township).

The Ethnologue code for this language is ycl. Alternate names used to refer to this ethnic group include: Lolopo, Lolo, Loxrlopor and Loxrlovu (language). Loxrlavu is classified as Sino-Tibetan, Tibeto-Burman, Ngwi-Burmese, Ngwi, Central. The Loxrlavu language is closely related to: Nanhua, Shuangbai, Yao'an, and Dayao.
