Dictionary entries explained

Entries are displayed in their phonetic form rather than their orthographic form.

Each entry will have a headword. It will be followed by the plural, if it exists. The symbol ≠ means morpheme boundary.

The figure of speech is given as an abbreviation, such as "n" meaning "noun" in the example entry below. This is followed by the translation in English (Eng), then in French (Frn). See the example below:
