Introduction

This is an "in process" dictionary of the u̱t-Hun language.  The speakers of u̱t-Hun (the Hun-ne̱) live in Nigeria, in a broad area in Niger state and in some parts of Kebbi State.  The Hun-ne̱ call their language "u̱t-Hun" and have formerly been known as the "Dukkawa" people speaking the Dukkawa language (or Dukanci in Hausa). The historical Dukkawa name refers to the speakers of u̱t-Hun (the Eastern dialects) and u̱s-Saare̱ (the Western dialects). The u̱s-Saare̱ language is currently being registered as a different language.

Although every dialect is important, this dictionary focuses primarily on the Kirho dialect of u̱t-Hun.
