Today these doctrines could be summed up in the word TULIP / T.U.L.I.P.; his teachings dealt with predestination and limited atonement. There is much argument over the years regarding Calvinism versus Arminianism. "TULIP" is a way of remembering: Total depravity, Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irresistible grace and Perseverance of the saints.
