EZRA, book ofIt is thought that Ezra was the author of this book; could have been written after 458 BC; it gives an account of how Ezra brought back some of the exiles from Babylon to begin the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. This was a time of great revival when the scrolls were found and read aloud to the people; a highlight of the book is Ezra's prayer and confession for the people (9:5-15).
