The shedding of the lamb's blood, when offered to God, was for the purpose of forgiveness. DTP In the New Testament Christ became the perfect Lamb of God. He shed His blood so that people could have forgiveness of sin. It was a one-time sacrifice of innocent blood for all those who, by faith, would receive Christ as Saviour and Lord.
