propitiationThis word comes from the Greek word which means to appease or to atone and stresses that the Holy God was fully satisfied by the sin offering of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. God's wrath was appeased and His righteous demands were met through the shed blood of Christ. Christ became our sin bearer so that we could be set free from the punishment demanded because of our sin nature which we inherited from Adam and Eve.
