TULIPRefers to the doctrines of John Calvin; the word tulip is an acrostic with each letter representing a different theological teaching. Total depravity, Unconditional election, Limited atonement, Irresistible grace and Perseverance of the saints. This teaching was adopted by the Synod of Dort in 1618 AD.
