The most common is as an intensifier for the word which precceds it, and 2. as a marker for a question. Palawano also uses the word <ba'> to indicate the sentence is a question. One wonders if it has been borrowed from Tagalog or Cebuano, since it is so close to the <be'> of Palawano in form and function. < taku' > is also used in questions, but seems to be used more often to indicate a rhetorical question, and in that use is not a regular question particle. Both can be found in the same sentence.
